A mother seagull, while moving her eggs from her nest, dropped one. That egg fell into a cluster of barnacles on the back of a baby whale named Jambo and hatched there. The baby seagull grew up thinking it was a 'barnacle'. This baby seagull is our protagonist, 'Lou'. Lou lives on Jambo's back and plays every day with his barnacle friends. There's Kururu the crybaby who lives in the barnacle village, Phero the magician whose house is always changing, Bella the inventor who can make anything but is timid, and the dependable Jambo who always watches over Lou. Lou and his friends love each other, help each other, and cherish each other while playing in wondrous and fun ways. There's nothing Lou and his friends can't do, and no place they can't go. They can go anywhere, whether it's under the sea, in the forest, in the fields, in the sky, or even in space, and play while imagining anything. Sometimes, when they encounter a difficult problem, they solve it in a very fun way.
