‘A Truly Historic Journey’ is a historical knowledge exploration that takes us on a quest for historical stories across the length and breadth of South Korea. It is a vivid historical journey, uncovering great figures and events representative of regions, as well as hidden stories intertwined with our simple daily lives. Broadcaster Park Mi-sun and historian Shim Yong-hwan have teamed up to learn history we didn't know and bring back forgotten history to be remembered. Produced in 4 parts as a special project celebrating the 50th anniversary of KBS public broadcasting, <A Truly Historic Journey> unfolds historical journeys in Gongju, Chungnam, Chilgok, Gyeongbuk, and Yeoju, Gyeonggi-do. Gongju, Chungnam, was a living historical site from ancient times to the modern and contemporary eras; Chilgok, Gyeongbuk, recounted the heartbreaking tragedy of the Korean War; and Yeoju, Gyeonggi-do, traced a thousand years of history along the Yeo River.
