The problem is that regional economic stagnation is accelerating due to the closure of coal-fired power plants. In particular, South Chungcheong Province, where 29 out of 58 coal-fired power plants nationwide are concentrated, is facing a serious crisis. According to research, the decrease in production due to the closure of coal-fired power plants is estimated to be 19 trillion won, and the decrease in value creation is estimated to be 7.8 trillion won. Can carbon neutrality and economic growth truly coexist?
