Amidst the noisy city, the great and special 90-day Seonwon retreat began for nine monks at Sangwolseonwon, the quietest place. The fierce journey of 'Cheonmakyeolsa' included 14 hours of meditation a day, one meal a day, a ban on shaving and bathing with only one set of clothes, silence, and seven strict precepts, the violation of which would lead to exclusion from the Jogye Order's monastic registry.
