The story begins when an elderly gentleman, Park Dong-man, comes to the house of Lee Jeom-soon, who lives alone after her husband's death, looking for a room. Dong-man, who is also widowed, ardently courts Jeom-soon, and soon the two start living together. As the couple lives happily, they must prepare for a sad farewell when Jeom-soon falls ill.
