Protagonist Lee Dong-jin considered himself an extremely ordinary person. That's why he challenged himself with all sorts of difficult adventures, such as triathlon, climbing the Himalayas, Amazon marathon, crossing the American continent by bicycle, and crossing Mongolia on horseback, to have an interesting self-introduction. Now, he is challenging his long-held dream of becoming a pilot. "I Am A Pilot" is the story of the challenge of a youth, seemingly ordinary yet extraordinary, with big dreams and grand scale. The only problem is, he has no money. Dong-jin successfully secures a scholarship at an American flight school by proposing to film a promotional movie, and simultaneously pursues two projects: filming his process of becoming a pilot. "I Am A Pilot" is the result of these efforts. Following the grand plan designed by Dong-jin, director Kim Dae-hyun meticulously documented the daily life at the flight school, overlaying it with Dong-jin's diary-style narration. The 11 months to obtain a pilot's license unfold as dramatically as if scripted. A sincere, unpretentious, and extraordinary challenge of this youth.
