In Noeulgol village in Gangwon-do, where beautiful rice fields stretch under a picturesque sky. Sanggu, an 11-year-old living with his grandmother, hears the shocking news that the village mural, his father's only legacy, is on the verge of collapse. He retrieves an old 8mm camera from home to capture it. However, operating the camera proves difficult, and crucially, Sanggu has no film. According to the village photo studio owner, Sanggu's father was once a film director, and a friend in Seoul who made films with his father runs a film school. With the enticing information that he can get film there, Sanggu's adventurous spirit is ignited. Will Sanggu manage to find the film school, safely obtain the film, and return to Noeulgol? Will his father's mural wait for Sanggu until then?
