Meng-gu (played by Lee Chang-hoon), a showman at a nightclub, is constantly consumed by fanciful dreams, yearning for the universe, aliens, and UFOs. One day, he opens a mysterious, forbidden emergency exit and travels back in time. He arrives in a small village called Cheolgok-ri during the Japanese occupation era in 1930, and in time rescues Pil-nyeo, who is being harassed by a Japanese man named Nakamura, becoming the knight in shining armor in Pil-nyeo's heart. He lodges in a humble tavern a bit away from the village and takes on the vengeful Nakamura in a drinking bet. Afterward, he coincidentally meets the director of Balsamina Academy and becomes a student. The wicked Japanese accuse Meng-gu of being an independence fighter and subject him to severe torture. However, he is freed with the help of Pil-nyeo's couple. When several students of Balsamina Academy are forcibly conscripted, Meng-gu does not yield and predicts Japan's defeat. Every time the wicked Japanese harass the villagers (of the academy), Meng-gu, disguised as the just Batman, appears, defeats the wicked Japanese, and brings hope to the villagers. One day, news of Japan's defeat arrives, and the villagers of Cheolgok-ri celebrate the joy of liberation. In the second part, Pil-nyeo and Meng-gu share a beautiful love and reach marriage. Back in reality, Meng-gu tells his nightclub colleague, Yo-gyu, everything.
