The Twelve Boarders (1979)

In the boarding house run by Mrs. Namgung, 12 people reside, including a taxi driver, a university student, a bank clerk, a hostess, and a nurse. The driver Kang Tae-ju loves Hye-jin, the owner's daughter, but she remains indifferent. University student Kim In-tae is a bookworm studying for civil service exams and admires nurse Baek Soo-yeon. Meanwhile, Madam Jang attempts to seduce bank clerk Yoon Young-gil, but Yoon Young-gil approaches hostess Noh Ho-ja. Mr. Heo Il-man, the loneliest of the boarders, has come to Seoul to find his wife and children, living a solitary life while searching for them. Jin-soo and Mi-ya, being orphans, eloped against their parents' wishes to live their love, and eventually, the 12 boarders unite to arrange the marriage of these two young people. At that moment, Mr. Heo Il-man spots Jin-soo's mother and is astonished. It turns out she is his own wife, and Jin-soo is his son. After the wedding concludes, Mr. Heo Il-man departs forlornly.
