A person who transformed from an elementary school teacher to a Japanese army officer, after liberation to a Republic of Korea officer, and then from a South Korean Labor Party member to an anti-communist standard-bearer. From a soldier to the leader of a rebellion, then president, and again president for a second and third term, he sought to realize his desire for lifelong rule. Whoever stood in his way, no matter who they were, was imprisoned, tortured, and made to disappear. A person who caused countless deaths in this land and drove an era mad.
