Seong-hee, a tutor at the director's house, ends up at the police station for violating curfew on the last day of her vacation. A man named Hyeong-min helps her, and the next day she discovers he is the director's son, who has just been discharged from the military. The two become close and befriend Hyeong-min's friend, Dong-seok. Seong-hee and Hyeong-min plan to marry, but due to the director's fierce opposition, Hyeong-min leaves for the U.S. and Seong-hee is kicked out of the house. Lost and wandering, Seong-hee marries Dong-seok, with whom she found mutual comfort. Upon his return, Hyeong-min, consumed by betrayal, kills Dong-seok in a fight and dies himself, leaving Seong-hee all alone.
