Ceylon Serendipity (2015)

The film begins with the story of an ordinary family in Seoul, consisting of three members: the mother (Min-chae), a former theater actress who resumes her theatrical activities, and the daughter (Da-sol), who is just starting her university life, along with the father (Su-nam). Da-sol, a freshman, begins to develop an inexplicable obsession with the "Seung-gi" senior who has returned to university and whom she meets for the first time. Min-chae tries to live a diligent life by balancing her theatrical activities and family life, but a misfortune that strikes the father, Su-nam, in early autumn causes ripples in the once happy family. What do we dream of, and why do we suffer and feel empty? What is the suffering and emptiness that overwhelms Min-chae, Da-sol, and Su-nam? A healing cinema that presents grand philosophical discourses from our small daily lives. By reinterpreting everything we love, hate, envy, and desire through the daily life of an ordinary family, the film reveals the causes of suffering and emptiness for Da-sol's family and the characters around them, as well as their solutions.
