As news spreads that the laboratory of Lee Pan-geun, the first in Korea to preach jazz theory for over 50 years, is to be demolished, his colleagues embark on a journey to a village in Bonghwa, Gyeongsangbuk-do, to visit Kang Dae-gwan, a trumpet master now retired. On a winter day, over a cup of rice wine, the friends share memories, then take out their instruments one by one to begin an improvisation. They are the masters of the first generation of Korean jazz, who dedicated their lives to the sole pride of being jazz musicians, and who smile saying, 'If you play music well, you become a person.'
