Usurer President Kook, as his wife Mrs. Han cannot have children, takes Mary, a surrogate, to live in a secluded house in the mountains. On his way home, he entrusts Hyuk, who saved him, with his protection and household management, but Hyuk falls in love with Mary. At Mary's pleading, Hyuk attempts to kill President Kook, but fails and is instead in danger of being killed by President Kook. President Kook pleads with Mary to bear his child one last time, but when she refuses, he pulls the trigger. At that moment, Hyuk pushes President Kook off a cliff, and the two steal cash and flee. Mrs. Han pursues them, and they confront her in a barn, but a stray bullet narrowly saves their lives. However, Hyuk, fleeing from police pursuit, is hit by a car and dies. Mary pockets the money and smiles triumphantly, but upon hearing a passing youth call her dog Mary, she panics, flees, and is hit by a large truck, with bundles of cash scattering in the air.
