During a trip to the East Coast, Hye-rin and Dong-hyun meet by chance. They share a night of love on the beach and then part ways without any promises. Five years later, Hye-rin is coincidentally hired as an employee at Dong-hyun's office, leading to their reunion. Dong-hyun, already married to Ji-young, is surprised to learn that Hye-rin has given birth to their daughter and has been raising her all this time. Hye-rin, suffering from pulmonary tuberculosis, passes away lonely, leaving her daughter to Dong-hyun's family. Later, Dong-hyun visits Hye-rin's grave, takes his young daughter's hand, and walks sadly along the beach at sunset.
