Hye-ji, Young-seok, and Se-min, who grew up in the same orphanage, go their separate ways 16 years later. Hye-ji is adopted by a good family and becomes a reporter. Se-min escapes the orphanage to find his mother, but is rejected by her and becomes a criminal. Meanwhile, Young-seok, after graduating from university through hard study, gathers beggars and intellectually disabled people, establishes an "ant's nest," and lives there as the "Beggar King" while taking care of them. While covering the "Beggar King," a person of interest, Hye-ji meets Young-seok again and also reunites with Se-min, who was attempting to steal jewelry at a party. During this time, Young-seok's "ant's nest" is attacked by villains, and their family member, Soo-yeon, is kidnapped. Young-seok, with Se-min's help, rescues Soo-yeon and then steals drugs with the intention of getting revenge on the attackers. Se-min advises Young-seok to hand over the drugs to the police to resolve the situation, but an organization searching for the drugs attacks, burns down the "ant's nest," and kidnaps Hye-ji. Young-seok, who loves Hye-ji, goes alone to the meeting place. Se-min, who originally intended to ignore them, make a big score, and leave the country, turns back to go rescue both of them. (Park Min)
