Hye-soo lives apart from her husband, Dong-jun, due to issues regarding their daughter's education. While visiting her husband's ranch, she meets Jae-ho, his junior colleague. Jae-ho, who harbors feelings for Hye-soo, begins visiting her home daily after she asks him to tutor her daughter. Hye-soo is also drawn to Jae-ho but suppresses her feelings, mindful of her status as a married woman. However, after discovering her husband's infidelity, she feels betrayed and begins an affair with Jae-ho. Hye-soo decides to divorce, but wavers when her husband apologizes and begs for a fresh start. She confesses her relationship with Jae-ho to Dong-jun. Jae-ho, who had been waiting for Hye-soo, loses his composure, knocks Dong-jun unconscious, and attempts to stage a car accident. Due to a momentary mistake, the car carrying all three falls off a cliff; only Hye-soo survives, Jae-ho dies, and Dong-jun goes missing. Desperate, Hye-soo returns to the ranch, where she unexpectedly finds her husband waiting, having been rescued by fishermen. Regretting her mistakes, Hye-soo returns to her family.
