Jin-su and Min-woo, a Korean-American, are best friends. One day, while fooling around in the library, they meet Hye-ji, and Min-woo and Hye-ji quickly fall in love. However, Min-woo has to drop out of school due to family problems and returns to the United States. Hye-ji, who waited for Min-woo's return for several years, falls into despair upon hearing that he got married in the US. Jin-su, who was by her side caring for and comforting her, confesses his feelings to her, and Hye-ji accepts them, and they get married. Meanwhile, Min-woo, who arrives late in Korea, tries to find Hye-ji but learns from his sister Hye-sook that she is married. Hye-ji, who begins her married life with Jin-su, hears from Hye-sook and her husband Jin-su stories about Min-woo's arranged marriage, his unhappy married life, his divorce, and his father's death. Min-woo, who intended to leave, meets Do-hee at the airport, who was abandoned by her fiancée, and decides to return to Korea permanently. Min-woo's appearance begins to shake Hye-ji and Jin-su's married life.
