Cheol-min, a debt collector tasked with collecting money for the wicked loan shark Go Man-gil, is feared by debtors who bribe Sang-pal, the leader of the Songdo gang. Cheol-min loves Mi-na, a bar hostess he frequents. He saves her from harassment, which brings them closer and leads to marriage. While doubting Man-gil's evil deeds, he learns that Mi-na is pregnant and asks him to become an honorable father. Cheol-min then quits his job as a debt collector. He finds employment as a building security guard and lives a happy life under Mi-na's love. However, when Sang-pal's gang learns that Cheol-min has quit and attacks Man-gil, the latter kidnaps Mi-na to draw Cheol-min into the affair. Man-gil, instinctively sensing Cheol-min won't return, kills Mi-na. Enraged, Cheol-min seeks out Man-gil and engages in a bloody battle.
