Ji-young, a nursing assistant at a hospital, finishes her shift late at night and heads to her boyfriend Jong-wook's apartment without notice. Seeing the door ajar, she approaches and witnesses Jong-wook having an affair with another woman. Shocked, Ji-young ends her relationship with him on the spot. Now single, she throws herself even more into her work. She is assigned to care for Jae-hyun, the brother of her colleague Seung-tae, who is undergoing radiation and chemotherapy for a brain tumor. Jae-hyun refuses further surgery due to a deep distrust of doctors and the hospital. Ji-young tries to build trust with him, but seeing that he has given up on life, she eventually leaves. During her absence, Jae-hyun, filled with regret, finds the will to live and recovers. He eventually seeks Ji-young out again, and they develop a romantic relationship.
