Han Min-ho, widowed early, runs a shipping company and lives with his son Jung-nam. One day, Min-ho meets a beautiful woman named Pedra on a business trip to France and remarries. Initially full of resentment towards his father, Jung-nam becomes fascinated by his new stepmother, Pedra, and develops irrational feelings. Pedra, treating Jung-nam without restraint, arouses the jealousy of his father, Min-ho. One day, Min-ho is shocked to hear the news of a subsidiary's ferry sinking, and at that moment learns that Pedra and Jung-nam have gone for a drive. Director Han loses his reason, brutally beats Jung-nam, and inflicts unbearable humiliation upon Pedra.
