Ji-seop (Kang Seok-woo), a university lecturer and film critic, is a staunch bachelor. When his friend Ki-soo gets married and moves to the US, Ji-seop agrees to look after his niece, Cho-rok, during his immigration process. Jeong-hee, a film magazine reporter who has a crush on Ji-seop, uses Cho-rok as an excuse to frequent his house. However, the more Ji-seop senses Jeong-hee's affection, the more he clings to his bachelorhood. One day, Ji-seop goes on a blind date arranged by his parents with So-young. So-young visits Ji-seop's house unannounced and runs into Jeong-hee, leading to the cancellation of the marriage. Jeong-hee, in turn, stops approaching Ji-seop. Freed from both women, Ji-seop, however, doesn't feel relieved. He realizes he has fallen in love with Jeong-hee without knowing it. Jeong-hee loves him too, but the two only quarrel out of pride.
