Kaito gets an opportunity for a one-year apprenticeship in Tokyo. On his last night before leaving, he spends the night with Miho. Kaito leaves with a promise to work hard and buy her a wedding ring. However, life at the company is not as easy as he imagined, and he is eventually fired after being falsely accused. Ashamed to return to his hometown and face Miho, Kaito meets Emiko while wandering outside. Emiko takes him in as he has nowhere else to go, and their cohabitation begins. Gradually, Kaito starts to drift away from Miho.
