Tomoki drifts between part-time jobs, lacking both ambition and stable employment. While those around him chase their dreams, he feels stuck in place and pathetic, leading him to decide to die alone in the woods. There, he encounters Michiko, who is logging. Their eyes meet, and as if possessed, Tomoki finds himself following Michiko and starting to work with her in logging.
