Gi-woo is a 'hikikomori'. While it seems his entire life consists of eating, sleeping, and playing, maintaining this lifestyle requires considerable effort. Calorie counting, non-strenuous indoor exercises, and so on. One hot summer day, a 'religious evangelist' visits Gi-woo's home. A conversation that began with a request for water soon turns into counseling, and Gi-woo reacts with resistance, but the evangelist suggests coming inside to discuss further. The two engage in a standoff at the door, and the escalating situation is temporarily resolved when the evangelist faints. Before Gi-woo can even catch his breath, a delivery driver rings the doorbell, and Gi-woo struggles to hide the unconscious evangelist inside while receiving the package. After the delivery driver leaves, Gi-woo reads the notes in the evangelist's notebook and realizes it was a part-time job. Gi-woo returns the notebook to the now-awake evangelist. The evangelist, in turn, questions why Gi-woo didn't believe him. During this exchange, Gi-woo suddenly recalls a past moment, and the evangelist rushes off for his next job. Left alone, Gi-woo sees his reflection in the covered bathroom mirror.
