Maggie's Memories (2019)

In a vacant lot in a park on the outskirts of Seoul, the elderly gather daily to pass the time. As if they were out on a picnic on a sunny spring day... The work depicts the joys and sorrows of the elderly who, despite reaching the age of 100, are marginalized by society and family and live in the blind spots of welfare. In one corner of that park, Mr. Ma (80), a wandering musician who earns a living playing the violin, performs the old classic melody 'The Catfish's Memory' with a melancholic violin, with a few bills and coins thrown in loneliness before him. Mr. Ma was a traveling musician who made a living playing one old violin. Suddenly, Ms. Chu-no-pa (75), who was watching Mr. Ma, lunges at him and shouts, "My husband, Heo Sam-do... 43 years old, my husband!" Mr. Ma, surprised, stops playing, bewildered. Ms. Chu-no-pa, whom he does not know, is a dementia patient whose mental state is fluctuating. One day, at the neighborhood market, Mr. Ma on his way home saves Ms. Chu-no-pa from a dangerous situation where she was being teased by the villagers. This is how their connection begins. Mr. Ma is a lonely old man who has lived in his old house for decades, waiting only for his only son Deok-bae (40), who left years ago after causing many troubles. Meanwhile, Ms. Chu-no-pa, although outwardly having a prosperous family, is a demented old woman mistreated by her wicked daughter-in-law, living without being able to die. Due to her fluctuating dementia, she causes incidents at home every day like a dementia patient. However, the only person who takes care of Ms. Chu-no-pa is her granddaughter Hyo-soon (10), thanks to whom she can overcome her dementia episodes and continue to live...
