Taxi driver Seok-min hits Won-jun, Mrs. Na's only son. Upon realizing Won-jun has already passed away on the way to the hospital, he conceals the crime. However, tormented by guilt, his wife Suk-young perceives her husband's distress and advises him to surrender. To atone for her husband's sins, Suk-young visits Won-jun's grave daily and even dedicates her son, Young-cheol, to Won-jun's family. Aware of Suk-young's sentiments, Kyung-sik hires a lawyer to lighten Seok-min's penalty. Finally, Seok-min goes to trial. Mrs. Na and Kyung-sik, upon learning Suk-young sacrificed her own son for them, forgive Young-cheol. Meanwhile, Seok-min, who momentarily misunderstood Suk-young, sheds tears and drifts away from the guards.
