For 20 years, Chohyun lived in a residential facility for people with disabilities. Unable to live as she pleased within the facility, Chohyun decides to leave and live freely. Enduring the harsh words and harassment from the facility's residents who try to hold her back, Chohyun emerges and begins independent living with the support of her peers from People First. Despite many joys and hardships, Chohyun adapts to independent living with her friends and colleagues. Chohyun's journey of leaving the facility and living independently gains attention at a National Assembly audit. As a self-advocate with a developmental disability who has left institutional care, Chohyun attends the audit and shares her life story before lawmakers and the Minister of Health and Welfare.
