Lost Love (1991)

Yoon Hee, raised in a prosperous environment, meets Chung Sik by chance at the age of 20, her first year of university. They fall into a fated love, get engaged, and she is immensely happy. However, shortly after Chung Sik leaves to study in America, the news of his death plunges her into despair. Jong Hwan, Chung Sik's best friend, who has always watched over Yoon Hee with heartache, informs her that Chung Sik is not dead and is in Seoul. Yoon Hee goes to find Chung Sik, but the joy is short-lived; he is in a pathetic state, paralyzed all over, with one side of his face disfigured. Yoon Hee, who finds happiness by commuting between home, work, and Chung Sik every day, is forced by her family to marry another man, but the marriage fails, and she returns to Chung Sik's side. However, his illness worsens progressively, and Chung Sik, knowing there is no hope, cannot bear Yoon Hee's unconditional love and Jong Hwan's devoted friendship, and ends his life by suicide.
