The Queen's Table (2023)

Food holds memories, places, and stories. Local delicacies that emphasize regionality with unique ingredients, traditional foods found in literature and old cookbooks, and home-style meals that evoke family nostalgia all transport us back to those times and places through food. And here, there are those who have rediscovered Gyeongbuk from 25 years ago through food. A birthday feast, prepared with great care, was presented before Queen Elizabeth II when she visited Andong, Gyeongbuk in 1999. To rediscover the flavors of that birthday feast, Michelin Chef Kim Tae-yoon and writer Jang Min-young embarked on a Gyeongbuk culinary journey. The taste and beauty of Gyeongbuk, discovered through a two-month journey, and the splendid transformation of Gyeongbuk ingredients born at its end. Chef Kim Tae-yoon's course meal, which reinterprets Gyeongbuk cuisine to be served to today's queen and audience, unfolds the mountains, fields, and sea of Gyeongbuk before us. A 45-minute story and fine dining experience, capturing the beautiful nature of Gyeongbuk, can be found in <The Queen's Table>.
