Sang Mi, a sensitive but academically challenged high school student, leaves home due to a misunderstanding with her perfectionist father. She narrowly escapes danger with the help of Min Gu, a car mechanic living in a junkyard, just before being harassed by thugs. Sang Mi moves in with him in his room, converted from a bus, and develops feelings for him. However, Sang Mi's father finds her, and Min Gu spends painful days longing for her. Unexpectedly hearing the news of Sang Mi's study abroad in America, Min Gu visits her to see her one last time. Sang Mi slips away from her family and embarks on a love escape. The two hold a simple ceremony in the countryside and promise eternity. However, Min Gu sends the overjoyed Sang Mi back to her family waiting at the airport. His heart is torn, but he consoles himself with the hope of a future happiness just for the two of them.
