During the Japanese colonial era, the younger brother and his girlfriend are imprisoned for ideological crimes. The dissolute older brother, Sun-gi, sends his sister, Sun-young, to be a concubine for President Baek. After her purity is trampled, Sun-young deeply asks for forgiveness in her heart from her younger brother and his girlfriend, who are involved in the anti-Japanese struggle, and takes her own life. Shocked by this, Sun-gi repents for his mistakes and dies while resisting the Japanese. After being released from prison, the younger brother becomes more actively involved in the independence movement and firmly vows to avenge his brother and sister.
