In 2014, at Seoul's Sinchon, Protestants armed with the doctrine of 'anti-homosexuality' began disrupting the Queer Culture Festival. Since then, anti-homosexual Protestants have grown in strength year by year and disrupted the Queer Culture Festival. Over the past 10 years, we look back at how the acts of opposition to the Queer Culture Festival have affected Korean society, including the LGBTQ+ community. Despite various acts of disruption, we observe the Queer Culture Festival steadily expanding nationwide, including in Seoul.
