Chang Soo, a worker at an ironworks, reunites with Young Ja, who fell from being a housekeeper to a prostitute after her military service, and dedicates his devoted love to her. Young Ja, who lost her virginity to the second-generation heir of a conglomerate and became disabled after an accident, is able to lead a life full of drive thanks to Chang Soo. Later, Chang Soo beats up Tae Shik, a thug who harassed women, and goes to prison. After his release, Young Ja saves money dreaming of a new life with him, but falls into despair when she is caught in the schemes of a malicious pimp. When Chang Soo gets out of prison and looks for Young Ja, she has lost consciousness in a fire and has been taken to the hospital. The doctor advises Chang Soo that she has had a miscarriage and doesn't have much time left to live, so it would be best for her to return to her hometown to spend the rest of her life there. Young Ja, unaware of this truth, confesses to Chang Soo that she is pregnant, and after receiving money from the pimp, she boards the bus to her hometown alone amidst everyone's farewells. Chang Soo, who saw her off glumly, is encouraged by his boss, who pushes him forward, and he finally chases after the bus Young Ja is on and embraces her passionately.
