The World Ship, carrying the Great Master Da Heung and the Buddhist mission to preach to aliens in the universe, is captured by the Cosmic Demon King. In response, the celestial Master Tang asks Guanyin Bodhisattva to release Sun Wukong, who was imprisoned in the Five Finger Stone Mountain. Sun Wukong meets Zhu Bajie and Sha Wujing, takes them as companions, and sets off into space to find the Great Master Da Heung and his party, and to retrieve the Buddhist scriptures. Sun Wukong's team crash-lands on the planet Orion and is attacked and captured by King Guangfeng and his group, but Sun Wukong rescues Master Tang, Zhu Bajie, Sha Wujing, as well as the captured Star King. Later, upon arriving at Uranus, Sun Wukong's team defeats King Guangfeng. However, due to the governor of Uranus, Sun Wukong's team becomes prisoners, and Sun Wukong loses his strength. Miraculously regaining his strength, Sun Wukong defeats the governor of Uranus and finally defeats the Cosmic Demon King. Sun Wukong rescues the Great Master Da Heung and the Star King, and retrieves the Buddhist scriptures. Sun Wukong, having regained his freedom, sets off alone in search of new adventures.
