After living a miserable life, Dong-ryeon flees to Hanyang after a fight with gamblers. On the way, he hears from Ju-mo in Gaeseong that a grand ritual is being held at Choi Sun-yeong's house. Dong-ryeon crashes the ritual and deceives Choi Sun-yeong with a fraudulent ritual. However, when his deception is discovered and he is on the verge of death from beatings, he begins to sing the song 'Gongmyeongga' that Seo-yeon called to him in his dream. Choi Sun-yeong recalls his daughter singing the song and misses her. Through Seo-yeon's family, Dong-ryeon begins to reflect on himself, misses his beloved wife, and finds the courage to live again.
