Why Did I Do That? (1975)

During the Japanese occupation, Ma Young works as an informant for Kinoshita, the head of the criminal division at the Jongno police station, but his son Seon-geun strongly opposes his father's actions. Advisor Kim of the Government-General suspects his son Tae-yeol is involved in the independence movement and asks Ma Young to investigate. Ma Young acts as a double agent while waiting for an opportunity to betray. When Seon-geun enters Gyeongseong University as his father wished, the family visits Gyeongbokgung Palace under his guidance, but a dispute arises due to the arrogance of the Japanese, resulting in Seon-geun getting injured, which makes Ma Young regret his past. Meanwhile, Kinoshita quickly arrests Tae-yeol's group and, to preserve the prestige of the Government-General, makes Ma Young the main culprit instead of Advisor Kim. Seon-geun, who came to see his father, shouts that he too will go to Alaska to become a wolf.
