Biology student Private Son (Kim Seok-gang) is the son of a high-ranking general. After receiving his conscription notice, he leaves the flower seeds he had collected for his mother before enlisting in the army. One day, amidst fierce battles, he is transferred to a commando unit. The commando unit, led by Lieutenant Kim (Shin Young-kyun), heads towards the Hantan River, overcoming various mortal dangers and engaging in combat. However, Private Son and the commando members complete the mission of blowing up an enemy bridge and all die heroically. After the armistice, beautiful flowers bloom in the flowerbed where the seeds left by Private Son were sown.
