Film director Suin meets North Korean defector writer Young-joo in a village in Goesan, Chungbuk, and makes a film about North Korean human rights. Listening to the story of Young-joo, who has experienced three defections from North Korea and two forced repatriations, Suin realizes the cruel reality of North Korean human rights that he did not know, and empathizes with Young-joo's deep sorrow and pain.
