I rewatched this series last winter, many years after the first time, and I was sure it would turn out to be hopelessly outdated. It didn't. Go Eun-chan gets a job at a coffee shop that only hires men, and she pretends to be a guy not for a joke, but because she needs money for her family, and the series never forgets that for a single moment. Yoon Eun-hye acts in a way that makes you believe every step she takes and every awkward laugh, and Gong Yoo is still so young and full of life here. The most important thing is how his arc of doubt is written: he isn't tormented by what people will think, but by what is happening to him personally. For 2007, that was bold, and today it just looks honest. I especially love the second couple and how the series has enough time for their very adult pain. I put on a couple of episodes when I'm sad, and every time I end up watching it to the end. A classic that hasn't faded.
