I watched this because of Lee Jun-ho and Yoona, and I wasn't disappointed at all in that regard. Their scenes in the hotel lobby, where they trade barbs but can't take their eyes off each other—that's what kept me hooked until the final episode. Cheon Sa-rang's smile, her "hotelier weapon," is truly infectious. The problem is, as soon as the camera shifts away from the two of them, I start checking the clock. Gu Won's mother's backstory is introduced with mystery, then left hanging for episodes on end, and when it's finally addressed, it feels so underwhelming. The conglomerate family conflicts, the siblings fighting for position—it was all wrapped up so easily that I forgot I was ever tense. What really frustrated me was the second half. Not a single obstacle felt truly difficult for this couple. As soon as a problem arose, it was resolved an episode later, and I found myself wondering if this was a 2023 rom-com or one from 2010. It's not that clichés are forbidden, but if you're going to use them, please add something new. I still found myself smiling every time Gu Won acted awkward in front of Sa-rang. It's just a shame that with two leads this good, the story didn't level up to match them.
